
Color
is a powerful tool to communicate a brand's message(s).


Gather your supplies: a timer, sticky notes, and something to write with. Place the cards on the table color-side up so everyone can see them.


Set the timer for 5 minutes and ask the participants to sort the cards into two sections: Colors that embody and reflect the brand and those that don’t. Remove the “no” cards.


Set the timer for 20 minutes. Scan all of the cards and ask everyone about their choices. Record meaning and context on the sticky notes, and group the cards into sets.


Narrow in on 1–2 groups that are most accurate and align with the brand’s Foundations. These groups will influence and inspire your final color palette. Record the color choices and themes, or take a photo to document.
